Unfortunately, the ill-conceived decision to go to war in Iraq has had devastating consequences not only for the West itself, but for global security as a whole. I remember how British Prime Minister Tony Blair (Putin's best friend at the time) supported the invasion of Iraq. A precedent was set, proving that the problems of international relations can be solved radically using military force. In the post-Cold War world, this became a dangerous but also a popular trend.
