A day after his surprise visit to Kyiv, President Joe Biden promised that Ukraine will never be a victory for Putin’s Russia.

Speaking from the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland, Biden outlined how the West responded to Moscow’s aggression and said world leaders must continue to stand up for freedom and democracy.

“One year ago, the world was bracing for the fall of Kyiv. Well, I have just come from a visit to Kyiv, and I can report: Kyiv stands strong! Kyiv stands proud. It stands tall. And most important, it stands free.”

The American leader stressed that the war that broke out in the center of Europe for the first time in 75 years was a huge test for humanity.

“When Russia invaded, it wasn’t just Ukraine being tested. The whole world faced a test for the ages. Europe was being tested. America was being tested. NATO was being tested. All democracies were being tested,” Joe Biden said from the gardens of the Royal Castle.

One year later, we know the answer.

We did respond. We would be strong. We would be united. And the world would not look the other way.”

“There should be no doubt. Our support for Ukraine will not waver. NATO will not be divided. And we will not tire,” he added.
