Thank you, John. Please, stay safe in Kyiv. We live in historical times, which was true for Berdyaev as well. His “Slavery and Freedom” was influenced by the upheavals of the Revolution and his forced immigration (1917-1922). But I too feel hopeful for a better world after the war. My favourite thinker is Berdyaev’s close friend, Nikolai Lossky (born in Vitebsk region, modern Belarus). I think, we will need to learn more about this Belarusian/Ukrainian footprint in world philosophy. (Dostoevsky's ancestors come from Pinsk in Belarus Polesie).
