Never Tired of London
A place where anything is possible
In 1777, during a discussion with his friend, Dr. Samuel Johnson, English writer, literary critic, and author of the first dictionary, made a statement about London that has stood the test of time and is still referenced today:
“When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”
Johnson was the leader of London’s 18th century literary world and a friend to famous artists and writers. As a true Londoner he was an expert whose opinion we should certainly trust.
If you have ever visited this great capital city, Johnson’s words will come as no surprise to you. With an abundance of things to do and see, London is sure to keep you on your toes.
Having lived in London for four years I can truly attest to its reputation as a city that never stops. Life here is a little slower than in other megacities I have visited, but it is very rich in emotions and vivid images.
Steeped in centuries of history, London has a lot to see and do: amazing art galleries, museums, shopping, some of the world’s most iconic landmarks…
