It’s true, Gazprom's gas production increased by 7.6% or 61 billion cubic meters in 2024. However, the company showed a loss for the first 9 months of 2024 of 309 bln ($3,19 bln). Data for the full year 2024 are not yet available. Gazprom survives at the expense of the oil business, as the European gas market is largely lost. The two "dissident countries" in the EU, Austria and Hungary, are indeed closely tied to Russian interests, as I have repeatedly written on Medium in 2023 and 2024. To them should be added Slovakia, forming an alliance of "central powers" with a different position on energy supplies from Brussels.
