In terms of political science Putin's regime can no longer be described as an autocracy. It was like that until the summer of 2020, before the changes to the Constitution were introduced. After the de facto abolition of the Russian Constitution in 2020, there is no legal basis for Putin to remain in power. The war in Ukraine was unleashed by a man who carried out an unconstitutional coup d'état and returned the country to a totalitarian past. The legacy of the 1945 "Victory" (i.e. the legacy of Joseph Stalin and his era) is the only legitimization of Putin’s power today. Elections in this case do not solve anything, as the author absolutely rightly noted, elections have long been turned into a political decoration, the result of which is known in advance.
