To end all speculation, an English translation of Juraj Cintula's post on the Slovenskí Branci Facebook page, just under the photo I reposted:

“Notes on Slovak conscripts. So nice from the beginning: last May I myself first learned about Slovak conscripts and what attracted me?

1. The ability to act without orders from the state, which in a passive society like ours is completely inarticulate.

2. Selfless passion - they got weapons and equipment for their own money. They learn strategy and tactics in their spare time. Or, they take vacations to learn it in joint exercises.
Why would they do that?
There are hundreds of thousands of migrants coming to Europe, and we are part of it. Slovak conscripts are not preparing for combat, but for defense. If someone tells you that they are preparing for war, don't believe it. Their main task is to defend their people, their country, their tradition, their culture, they are patriots. I believe in these young boys and girls and I express my support for them.”

For me it doesn’t look like a “short visit to read a poem criticising violence.” Ironically, this is exactly what you call a “close relation.”
