2024 has been a difficult year, full of new challenges and dramatic events. This was true not only on a global scale, but also for many of us personally. For me, it was one of the most challenging years in the last two decades. Family problems and uncertainty about the fate of my home country do not allow me to look to the future with confidence.

2024 began with the fraudulent elections in Russia, when Vladimir Putin was “re-elected” president for the fifth time. Then followed the EU elections, which shook the European elites to their core. In the summer, we witnessed the crushing defeat of the Conservatives in the UK elections and the near triumph of the right in France, which plunged the country into a prolonged government crisis that continues to this day.

The most important political event of the year was undoubtedly the dramatic presidential election in the United States, in which one candidate – Donald Trump – miraculously survived two assassination attempts, while another – Joe Biden – withdrew his candidacy. Trump’s victory and his return to the White House undoubtedly represent the main global political vector that will extend into 2025.
