2024 Election and the new “Bermuda Triangle”

Over the past few years, a new global configuration of three powers has emerged in world politics, which can be characterized as the “Bermuda Triangle”. This term was suggested by a political scientist and senior researcher at University College London, Vladimir Pastukhov. The sides of the triangle, in his opinion, are Russia, Ukraine and the United States.

The U.S. is Ukraine’s main military ally in the West; on the other hand, the Kremlin believes that the keys to destroying the Ukrainian problem are in Washington. Thus, the three powers are inextricably linked.

This new geopolitical configuration — the zone of instability into which the peace and tranquility of modern Europe has fallen — will persist for at least the next few years. Instability is determined first of all by a paradoxical fact: the upcoming presidential elections in 2024 in all three key participants of the world struggle. Presidential elections in 2024 should be held in Russia, Ukraine and the United States. “Should” because in the first two countries they may well be canceled.
